Wine Spectator Honors Beau Rivage Restaurants with 2015 Awards

MGM Resorts International's Gulf Coast resort praised for wine program

Two of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino’s award-winning restaurants have been recognized by Wine Spectator magazine for their outstanding wine lists. BR Prime and Jia each received the 2015 Award of Excellence, and are two of just 15 restaurants recognized in the state of Mississippi.

Every year since 1981, Wine Spectator has honored restaurants around the world for excellence in their wine programs, dinner menus and wine lists. An internationally distributed magazine, the Wine Spectator awards remain the pinnacle of recognition in the fine-dining industry.

Beau Rivage’s BR Prime and Jia restaurants have been recognized by Wine Spectator every year since they opened in 2005. Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence recognizes a wine list offering an interesting and diverse selection of wines that are well-presented and thematically match the restaurants cuisine in price and style.

“Beau Rivage’s wine program brings an extensive international list of hard-to-find, truly exceptional wines to Mississippi,” said Beau Rivage Sommelier Mark Warren. “We’re extremely proud of our relationships and the ability to offer a mix of rare and delicious wines representing the best of all regions. With more than 3,000 bottles of wine on display and an exceptional menu to match, Beau Rivage’s fine dining restaurants truly deliver unforgettable dining experiences.”

BR Prime delivers one of the finest culinary experiences the Southeast has to offer within a relaxed, cosmopolitan setting. BR Prime’s cellar houses more than 5,000 bottles of wine from 255 highly desired labels many of which are dramatically showcased in two towering coolers that serve as the restaurant’s centerpiece.

Beau Rivage has found a way to please all palates and appetites with a sophisticated yet fun approach to Asian fusion fare at Jia. The restaurant’s extensive wine collection feature 225 selections made to pair with its pan-Asian cuisine.

To win a Wine Spectator Award, a restaurant must offer a wine list that includes wines appropriate to its cuisine while appealing to a wide range of wine lovers. To qualify, the list must present complete and accurate wine information including vintages and appellations for all selections, including wines by the glass. After meeting these basic requirements, lists are judged for one of Wine Spectator’s three awards: the Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence, and highest Grand Award.
