The Professional Bull Riders return to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum

MGM Resorts International Sponsors PBR’s “Battle at the Beau” for Third Consecutive Year

BILOXI, Miss (July 29, 2015) –   The Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series, which debuted at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in 2013, is returning to Biloxi on Aug. 7-8, with the Battle at the Beau, presented by PBR. The two-day event will feature non-stop, heart-pounding 8-second battles between 150-pound men and 2,000-pound bulls. Fans will be thrilled and left on the edge of their seats in excitement as they watch the intensity of the PBR.  PBR fans will have an opportunity to meet select riders on Aug. 7 at Coast Nightclub inside Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

Battle at the Beau will showcase the world’s Top 35 bull riders riding the best bucking bulls in the business for their share of an overall purse of $140,000.  The $30,000 event title will be up for grabs as well as valuable points needed towards the $1 million 2015 PBR World Championship. The Battle at the Beau will be the first event of the second half on the 2015 PBR Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) so the riders will be well-rested and ready to meet their 2,000-pound foes.

Tickets for the Aug. 7-8 event are on sale to the general public and are priced from $15 to $100.  They can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum box office or via phone at 800-745-3000. The bull riding action begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. A special discount for Gulf Coast locals is available. Use code TOP35 to save 35 percent off ticket prices.

The weekend will feature an exclusive after-party Meet & Greet with some of the bull riders at Coast Nightclub inside Beau Rivage on Friday, Aug. 7 from 11:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. The public is invited to meet and take photos with some of the bull riders competing at the Battle at the Beau. Triggerproof—“the best party band of the South”—will be performing live inside Coast Nightclub that evening.  Guests can enter a free drawing to win tickets to the Professional Bull Riding events, among other great prizes and giveaways throughout the night.  At midnight, one lucky winner will get a VIP Package that includes a Tommy Bahama gift basket and 4 VIP Tickets and Reception Passes to Saturday night’s event at Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

The bull riding action starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7 and at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8. On Friday, the Top 35 bull riders in the world will face one bull each in Round 1. On Saturday, all 35 bull riders will face another bull in Round 2. After these rounds the scores will be totaled and the Top 15 bull riders on two bulls will return for the championship round. The winner will be the rider with the highest score after three rounds of competition.  Previous winners in Biloxi include Valdiron de Oliveira (2014) and 2004 World Champion Mike Lee (2013), both of whom are presently scheduled to return.  Returning to action in Biloxi will be the PBR’s top bull, Mick E Mouse. The black bovine was injured in Billings in April and has been rehabbing ever since. Currently, the bull is on a buck off streak of 34 and is closing in on Bushwacker’s unridden streak of 42.

Biloxi will be one of 27 cities visited on the 2015 PBR Built Ford Tough Series schedule. The season kicked off Jan. 2-4 at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, and will conclude at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 21-25 where the 2015 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who has earned the most points during the 2015 season, will be crowned, receive the coveted World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.

While the final night of the competition will air on CBS Sports Network on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. ET, fans can also catch each night of the action in real time on PBR LIVE via CarbonTV.com. PBR LIVE is now available at no charge to all fans and media.  The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network – the home of the PBR and networks around the world.
