BILOXI, Miss. (Nov. 8, 2017) – Beau Rivage Resort & Casino is proud to partner with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Ballet Theatre for its eighth annual presentation of The Nutcracker Ballet. E.T.A. Hoffmann’s timeless classic will grace the Beau Rivage Theatre stage for two shows, Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday Dec. 3 at 3:00 p.m.
Choreographer Stanislav Ivanov will bring this holiday fairytale to life with stunning sets, vibrant costumes, dramatic lighting and world-renowned professional dancers Joseph Gatti and Sarah Lane.
Recipient of the Princess Grace Award in 2007 and Leonore Annenberg Fellowship
in the Arts in 2008, Lane is most recently recognized as the dancing double for Natalie Portman in Fox Searchlight Pictures' feature film Black Swan.
Joseph Gatti began his dance career at the Orlando Ballet School and in 2003 won the Youth American Grand Prix Ballet Competition in New York, where he received the Gold Medal and a scholarship to the Royal Ballet School in London. The former dancer for Cincinnati Ballet, Boston Ballet and principal dancer for Corella Ballet, in 2005 Gatti was the first American Male Dancer to ever win the prestigious Gold Medal at the New York International Ballet Competition.
The 2017 Mississippi Gulf Coast Ballet Theatre Nutcracker performance features Sayat Asatryan, principal ballet dancer with the Moscow Kremlin Ballet and Guest Artist with Bolshoi Ballet. Asatryan has toured internationally throughout South America, Europe, Japan, France, Egypt, Italy, China, Mexico and the United States.
Audiences will have the pleasure of watching these award-winning artists perform a beautiful Ballet while listening to the musical score of Peter Tchaikovsky.
